I would highly recommend my LDC instructor John. He has all the patience in the world, makes you feel at ease and gives you confidence fast throughout your lessons. Working with the LDC workbook helped me a lot and gave me a greater understanding of what was expected when you were behind the wheel. I would just like to thank you again John for all the work that was put in to help me pass my test. It is totally worth it and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor to go on the journey with me.

I previously took lessons a few years ago with a different instructor, but gave up because I felt I wasn't making any real progress. I decided to give driving another try and gave the LDC system of driving a go. As I already had gained some driving experience with my previous instructor I booked the semi-intensive course with John. Instantly I began to see the benefit of the LDC system; with every lesson I felt like I was making real progress, which was the very thing I was missing with my previous instructor.
John struck a good balance between letting me practice those things I was comfortable with, while not being afraid to encourage me out with my comfort zone. John was always very keen in his explanations to explain why something was done in a certain way, rather than just telling me to do it. With the benefit of hindsight, this was the main differenece between John and my previous instructor as that I felt John was teaching me how to drive, and not simply how to pass my test.
As a result of John's patience, and professional approach used in conjunction with the LDC system I subsequently passed my test with two minor faults.
I would highly recommend John if you want to learn the skill of driving and not just to pass the test.

The LDC system of driving instruction is perfect for people who want to learn to drive a car and also become a competent and knowledgeable driver during the period of learning. The Driving Skills Workbook lets you reflect on a completed lesson and preview the next one in line. A very structured and informative approach which allows the learner to develop quickly and confidently.
However, the LDC system works best when the instructor who's delivering the lessons is fully adaptive to each and every student. John Copland is this and more also. A total professional who arrived on time for my thirty lessons and took extra time on several occasions to answer my questions and go over the learning experience.
During my test which I passed first time I encountered no situation that John hadn't covered in my lessons. This included all the routes I took during the lesson and the location of my manoeuvre. These are extremely important issues that make all the difference when you arrive on test day. They are also one of the many hallmarks of a true professional which John is. I thoroughly enjoyed my time learning to drive and John was the main reason for this.

"I passed my driving test first time after 42 hours of instruction with John Copland Driver Training.
John is an exceptional driving instructor who gives his students 110%. He is very supportive, understanding, patient, friendly and makes every lesson enjoyable.
